Roquefort is an unpasteurized ewe’s milk, semi-soft, blue-veined cheese from the Midi Pyrenees region with AOC status.
- Legend has it that the cheese was discovered when a shepherd, eating his lunch of bread and cheese, was distracted by a beautiful girl. Abandoning his meal in a nearby cave, he ran to meet her. Days later, he came back and found the cheese had developed a mould that gives Roquefort its spicy strong flavour
- Firm, creamy and deep green-veined, the flavour is rounded without any bitter metallic notes
- Ingredients: whole ewe’s milk
- Size: 250g, 500g, 750g, 2.5kg. approximate weight; cut on order. The Whole Roquefort weighs around 2.5kg
