A top quality VSOP 4/10 Year Old Armagnac from Château Garreau, this is from the Bas Armagnac region and has spent five years in old oak casks in the Chateau cellar. A burst of young brandy starting to mature

  • Tasting: Golden yellow, very floral nose with white flowers and a gentle and well integrated oakiness. Acacia flower. Smooth and well rounded with a hint of vanilla and cinnamon
  • A young versatile Armagnac which can be served in cocktails or “on the rocks”, as a “trou gascon” (in the middle of a multi-course meal) or “digestif”, also used for cooking or confectionery
  • Consumption at room temperature
  • Grape variety: Baco, Ugni blanc, Folle blanche
  • Alcohol: 40%
  • Awarded a Gold Medal in Paris in 2014 (National Agricultural Competition)
  • Size: 50cl, 70cl, 1.5l and 2.5l Bottle and 70cl Prestige Carafe

More Info

- Chateau Garreau Armagnac is produced and bottled at the property sine the 19th century; initially by the Prince Sukhorov Kabylin of Russia, previous owner of the domain, who once purveyed the Tsar's Court of Saint Petersburg with his Armagnacs
- Chateau Garreau is located in the Bas Armagnac region, being the best area for producing top quality Armagnac
- The estate covers 82.5 ha, 25 of which is dedicated to the vine, planted with Baco, Folle Blanche, Ugni Blanc for Armagnac; and Colombard, Gros Manseng, Tannat, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon for Floc de Gascogne
- The Armagnac distillation process uses column (continuous) stills. The white wines with their final yeast lees (8-10% ABV) the become eaux de vie (52-60% ABV). At this stage, Armagnac has already a very rich and fruity taste, but it is the slow aging process in carefully chosen oak barrels which imparts its complexity

    Up to full standard as always and a true delight to brighten these dark days of Lockdown. Beyond description - you simply have to experience its bouquet to whet your appetite for the fantastic taste
