Luana is a beautiful doll dating from the beginning of the 20th century

  • Luana is a Bébé Jumeau body in perfect condition, and its flawless porcelain head is marked DEP S&H (Simon & Halbig). When the Jumeau house sold its brand to the SFBJ, it finished its production using the Jumeau bodies but putting DEP heads on them
  • Mohair wig, fixed blue eyes in sulphide. Open mouth. Pretty little original earrings. Lovely pink leather shoes. (Her original shoes not in good condition will be added) Very pretty set in white English embroidery, dress and bonnet (It was her outfit). Luana measures 60 cm in total height
  • Bisque is unglazed porcelain which was first created in the late 1860s by French firms. Porcelain is created from a paste of clays and water which is moulded and then fired at temperatures above 2300 F. After firing, the moulded doll head is fired several times more after applications of paints the doll's features. Most of the time an application of colour is applied to create a more realistic skin tone. If there is no colour added to the bisque and it is left white and unglazed
