All-Bisque Doll Alice

All-Bisque Doll Alice is a lovely all-bisque doll of 40cm tall, early 20th century 

  • Her pretty porcelain face is intact and without cracks or flaws. Her beautiful blue eyes are fixed with well defined eyebrows. Her mouth is opened showing four small teeth. Her neck is engraved 2/0 with two horizontal lines
  • Alice wears a pale pink silk dress lined with tarlatan, and also an authentic blond mohair wig. A beautiful matching hat. Black fine crocheted socks and black leather shoes with buckles (no mark on the shoes). her body composition is semi-articulated. Fingers intact. Body in good condition
  • Bisque is unglazed porcelain which was first created in the late 1860s by French firms. Porcelain is created from a paste of clays and water which is moulded and then fired at temperatures above 2300 F. After firing, the moulded doll head is fired several times more after applications of paints the doll's features. Most of the time an application of colour is applied to create a more realistic skin tone. If there is no colour added to the bisque and it is left white and unglazed
