An exceptional Vintage 1985 Armagnac from Château Garreau. This Armagnac is from the Bas Armagnac region. Produced using grapes from a single harvest, it will make an excellent special gift to commemorate a birthday, anniversary or other special occasion

Tasting: Nose with walnut and toasted notes. Smooth and well-rounded with figs and a peppery finish
Grape variety: Baco, Ugni blanc, Folle blanche
Alcohol: 40.5%
Awarded a Bronze Medal in 2009 at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris 2009 (Agricultural Fair)

- Chateau Garreau Armagnac is produced and bottled at the property sine the 19th century; initially by the Prince Sukhorov Kabylin of Russia, previous owner of the domain, who once purveyed the Tsar's Court of Saint Petersburg with his Armagnacs
- Chateau Garreau is located in the Bas Armagnac region, being the best area for producing top quality Armagnac
- The estate covers 82.5 ha, 25 of which is dedicated to the vine, planted with Baco, Folle Blanche, Ugni Blanc for Armagnac; and Colombard, Gros Manseng, Tannat, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon for Floc de Gascogne
- The Armagnac distillation process uses column (continuous) stills. The white wines with their final yeast lees (8-10% ABV) the become eaux de vie (52-60% ABV). At this stage, Armagnac has already a very rich and fruity taste, but it is the slow aging process in carefully chosen oak barrels which imparts its complexity
